SHELBY WHITLEY, LPCA
COURAGE COUNSELOR
(860) 531-2034
I am Shelby Whitley, a mental health professional currently on the journey to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut. With over 8 years of experience, I have had the privilege of assisting individuals across various age groups, including children, teens, adults, and seniors, in navigating challenges such as addictions, anxiety, career-related issues, women's issues, substance misuse, mental health autism, and much more.
My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Psychology, which I obtained from Bay Path University in 2014. I later returned to Bay Path University and graduated in 2020 with high honors, earning a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. Drawing upon my expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), I am equipped to support clients in their journey towards healing. Additionally, I am well-versed in other therapeutic modalities, including person-centered therapy, and continually expand my knowledge to better serve my clients.
I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to accompany you on your therapeutic journey. By taking this brave step forward, we can collaborate to create a transformative experience where healing and fulfillment await. Remember, therapy is a powerful tool for positive change, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
