How would you describe CourageCC's practice?
Our mission is to guide you toward a meaningful, peaceful, and balanced existence while providing the courage to face your challenges and barriers. While we can't change the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve the challenges of the present and build the future you envision.
We are all creating our own courageous path that provides each of us with lessons to be embraced. Rather than view our life experiences as mistakes and harshly judge ourselves, we are capable of using these lessons in a manner that will support our growth and bring balance into our lives.
We all embody wonderful strengths and gifts that make us who we are today. Unfortunately, life experiences cause us to doubt, judge, and question our true selves. This often results in great inner conflict that can be negatively expressed in our relationships with others. Finding the courage to face these conflicts is the true goal of our clinical practice.
What is our approach at CourageCC?
The company is named after COURAGE because it takes courage to seek out therapy. We also need courage to trust a stranger to fully listen to us and treat our concerns with care and respect. Therapy can be both challenging and rewarding. We will help find solutions, discuss underlying issues, identify unrealistic expectations placed on you or the world around you, teach coping skills, and provide a therapeutic and empathetic ear as you face challenges. We like to include and acknowledge all aspects of your belief systems, background, and culture.
We work to create a counseling environment that is supportive, judgment free, and safe. Since you have taken the initiative to seek therapy, we offer flexible evening appointment days and times that fit your schedule and can get you in for an appointment the same week in most instances.
As your Courage Counselor, we include and acknowledge all aspects of your belief systems, background, and culture to create a successful plan that focuses on all your strengths.
Counseling includes your active involvement as well as efforts to change your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You will have to work both in and out of the counseling session. There are no instant, painless, or passive cures. Instead, there may be homework assignments, exercises, interventions, journal entries, role-plays, etc. Most likely, you will be challenged to work on relationships and make long-term efforts. Sometimes change will be easy and swift, but more often than not it will be slow and deliberate; effort may need to be repeated.
